Description

"SolaX TBMS-MCS0800" is the controller (BMS) of the "T-BAT-SYS-HV-S3.6" and "T-BAT-SYS-HV-S2.5" towers, mounted at the top of the tower. It monitors the cells of all modules, controls charging and discharging, communicates with the inverter and is the only point of the tower where the power and communication cables are connected. The box includes the base on which the tower stands and 2 m cables to the inverter, so it is everything needed to assemble a new system from separately purchased modules.

Who needs a separate controller

The controller is purchased when a system is assembled from separate modules, when a second tower is built on another inverter port, or when replacing a controller. One "TBMS-MCS0800" serves 2 to 13 "TP-HS36" modules (7.4–47.9 kWh) or the same number of "TP-HS25" (5.1–33.3 kWh) – module types are not mixed in one tower. A second series-connected tower needs a "Series Box", not a second controller.

Ports and functions

Communication with the inverter is CAN 2.0 or RS485 through the BMS port; power terminals B+ / B− and the COM and GND ports for a second tower via the "Series Box"; a HEAT port for the heating function (covered with a short-circuit plug from the factory). The controller provides soft start and secondary protection, and diagnostics and firmware updates are done remotely through the inverter. Inside is a 750 V / 60 A DC fuse.

Dimensions and installation

The controller is 510 × 365 × 157 mm, 13 kg; the base 510 × 365 × 104.2 mm, 10.1 kg. The base is fixed to the floor and wall with the L-shaped and adjustable brackets (included), the modules are stacked on it, and the controller goes on top. IP65 enclosure, protection class I, the operating temperature is the same as the modules': charging from 0 °C, discharging from −20 °C, with heating from −30 °C.

Compatibility and warranty

The controller works with "SolaX" hybrid inverters that are on the official HS36 and HS25 compatibility lists: "X1-Hybrid G3/G4", "X3-Hybrid G2/G4", "X3-Ultra". The EU warranty is 10 years, as for the whole "T-BAT-SYS-HV-S3.6" system; cables, brackets and tools are not covered by the warranty.
