For an existing solar plant

A battery for your existing solar plant

Your plant generates by day, yet in the evening you buy from the grid and pay 7.26 ct/kWh for the grid to store it. We assess your inverter and match a battery to it or a new hybrid inverter with a battery.

Batteries from €2,116 · installation and the backup circuit are quoted individually

Who benefits from a retrofit battery

A battery added to an existing solar system pays off for homes and businesses alike; only the capacity differs, and we size it to your evening and night consumption.

  • Private homes10–15 kWh
  • Homes with a 1 kW limit10–15 kWh
  • Farms, guesthouses and hotels50–150 kWh
  • Industry, warehouses and cold storage100–400 kWh

Ways to add a battery

We first assess the inverter – model, phases and compatibility against the manufacturer's list – and choose one of two routes: a battery on your existing hybrid inverter, or a swap to a hybrid inverter with a battery.

Battery on your existing hybrid inverter

When you have a SolaX, Solis, Deye, Solplanet, Sungrow or Huawei hybrid inverter – we connect a compatible battery

from €2,116

  • SolaX T-BAT, Dyness, Huawei LUNA or Solplanet Ai-HB matched to the inverter
  • Connection and BMS configuration
  • EPS backup circuit
  • APVA and ESO paperwork after installation
  • 5-year workmanship warranty

Inverter swap to a hybrid + battery

When the grid inverter (Fronius, SMA, Growatt etc.) cannot manage a battery or is undersized – we select a new hybrid sized to your needs and pair it with a matching battery

How it works

  1. 1

    Leave an enquiry

Your name and phone are enough – we will call and work everything out together. If you have them to hand, a photo of the switchboard or the inverter model speeds up the quote.

  2. 2

    Assessment and quote

Based on the inverter model, phases and consumption, we select a battery for your inverter or propose a new hybrid inverter, and send a price including installation.

  3. 3

    Installation

Certified electricians place the battery, connect it to the inverter and switchboard, fit the protection devices and the EPS circuit.

  4. 4

    Commissioning and paperwork

We configure the BMS, the app and tariff priorities, test the backup supply and prepare the APVA and ESO documents.

Why now

Storing in the grid costs you

From 2026 you pay 7.26 ct for every kWh taken back or give up 37% of your generation. With your own battery you pay none of these fees.

The surplus disappears

On 31 March 2026 ESO wrote off the energy accumulated by ~99,000 prosumers – 1,800 kWh on average. The next write-off is 31 March 2028.

Outages last for days

The August 2026 storm left 268,000 ESO customers without power, some for up to 3 weeks. A battery with an EPS circuit powers the fridge, boiler, lights and internet automatically.

Support is coming back

An APVA call for batteries is planned for the autumn – €170 per kWh (up to €1,700 for a 10 kWh system). The previous call was fully reserved within two days, so we prepare the application in advance.

Batteries we add to existing plants

SolaX, Dyness, Huawei and Solplanet LiFePO4 systems from 5 to 241 kWh, prices from €2,116 – we match the model and capacity to your needs.

Frequently asked questions

Will a battery work with my inverter?

We choose the route after assessing your inverter. A hybrid inverter (SolaX, Solis, Deye, Solplanet, Sungrow, Huawei) takes a battery from its manufacturer's compatibility list. If the inverter is grid-tied (Fronius, SMA, Growatt etc.), we swap it for a hybrid chosen to suit your needs and paired with a matching battery.

What capacity does an existing plant need?

An average home usually needs 10–15 kWh; with a heat pump or an EV, 18 kWh or more. Modular batteries can be expanded later, so you can start smaller. We size the capacity to your evening and night consumption, not to the plant's power.

Will the house have power during an outage?

Yes, if a backup (EPS) circuit is installed: within milliseconds the battery takes over the critical loads – fridge, boiler or circulation pump, lights, internet. We decide together during the survey which loads to connect.

Will I get APVA support for the battery?

The Ministry of Energy plans a separate call for batteries in autumn 2026 – €170 per kWh; a hybrid inverter and at least 10 kWh are required, and the application is submitted after installation. We prepare the documents in advance, as the funds are exhausted within days.

How fast does it pay back?

With a battery a household uses about 60% of its own generation instead of ~35% (ESO data), avoids the 7.26 ct/kWh or 37% storage fee and can charge in the cheapest night intervals (6.3 ct/kWh instead of 14.6 ct/kWh in the evening on ESO's four-zone tariff). We send an exact calculation for your consumption together with the quote.
