Description
The Dyness Tower Pro 3.84 kWh module (HV9640) is the capacity block used to expand an installed Tower Pro tower. One module adds 3.84 kWh (3.648 kWh usable) and 220 mm of height; a tower holds 2 to 6 modules, so the maximum capacity of one tower is 23.04 kWh. The module is sold separately for expansion only – it needs the tower base and the BDU controller to operate.
How expansion works
With the BDU lifted off, the module is placed on top of the existing modules and the BDU goes back on top – the connectors mate as it is placed, there are no internal cables; the modules configure themselves automatically, and after the expansion we check that the BMS and the inverter show the new capacity. The tower voltage rises by 84–108 V per module, so before expanding we check that the new configuration stays within your inverter's battery voltage window (for example, with Solis S6-EH3P(3–10)K-H (PRO) the Dyness list marks up to 5 modules – TP19). Expansion is possible within 3 years of commissioning (Dyness recommends within 2; later only after prior agreement with Dyness technical support), only with identical HV9640 modules whose production dates differ by no more than 3 years, and after the manufacturer's state-of-charge matching procedure – carried out by the installer.
Technical data
LiFePO4 module 96 V, 40 Ah, 3.84 kWh; 587 × 310 × 220 mm, 40.5 kg; IP55; discharge from −10 °C (from −20 °C per the 2026 datasheet), charge from 0 °C, both from −20 °C with the optional heating function; built-in aerosol fire-suppression system; at least 8,000 charge cycles (0.2C, 25 °C, 95 % DoD, to 70 % EOL).
Warranty and important conditions
Warranty – under the Dyness Tower Pro system warranty terms (10 years for the system, 3 years without BMS communication); the start and conditions of the expansion module's warranty are confirmed by the supplier, and unauthorised or improperly performed expansion may void the warranty. Previous APVA calls compensated a newly installed battery (the application is submitted after installation); whether a later expansion of an existing battery is compensated is not addressed in the call conditions – check before expanding.
