Description

The Solplanet ASW8K-LT-G2 Pro is an 8 kW three-phase grid inverter for a home whose PV plant is planned around an 8 kW service connection or permitted generation capacity. It accepts up to 12 kWp of solar modules (150 % oversizing) in two strings – one in each of its two MPPT inputs – and feeds up to 12.8 A per phase into a 3/N/PE 400 V grid. It is the only model in the series without a fan: the 16 kg IP66 enclosure is cooled naturally, so it can also be hung on a wall next to living rooms. No battery can be connected to this inverter.

Two strings for two roof planes

MPPT input A accepts up to 20 A of operating current (30 A short-circuit), input B 16 A (25 A), so the string of higher-current modules is best connected to A. Each MPPT works independently – east and west planes do not reduce each other's output. The inverter delivers full power when the string voltage is 400–850 V; MPPT range 150–1 000 V, start-up from 180 V, maximum voltage 1 100 V. If the roof has three or more planes you need three or four strings – then choose the 15 kW or 17 kW model.

How it differs from the 15 kW model

Fanless and one kilogram lighter, with two (not three) pairs of PV connectors in the box. Efficiency is the same as for the whole series – 98.6 % maximum, 98.2 % European; night-time consumption below 1 W. The 3–10 kW datasheet additionally lists the G98/99 and VDE-AR-N 4105 grid certificates.

Communication and control

Status, fault and communication LEDs; monitoring in the Solplanet app through a Wi-Fi or LAN dongle in the COM3 port (4G optional). We confirm whether the dongle is in the box when you order. With a Modbus RTU meter such as the Eastron SDM630-Modbus connected over RS485 (RJ45), the inverter limits feed-in to the grid down to zero.

Mounting, protections and warranty

Wall bracket, vertical or tilted back by up to 15°; clearances 500 mm above and below, 300 mm at the sides. Operation from −25 °C to +60 °C. Integrated DC switch, type II surge protection on the DC and AC sides, residual-current and anti-islanding protection. In the box: inverter, bracket, 2 pairs of PV connectors, AC connector, screws. Warranty per AISWEI terms – 5 or 10 years as agreed in the purchase contract, extendable to 20 years.
