EVZONA

Description

The Solplanet Ai-HB G2 Pro BCU is the battery control unit with base (the manufacturer's BCU and Base package). It controls the HB051050B modules stacked on the base and connects the tower to the inverter over CAN. One tower needs one BCU: it is bought separately when a second tower is installed in parallel or when the controller is replaced. Weight 16 kg, footprint 540 × 390 mm.

What is in the controller

A circuit breaker that disconnects the high voltage between the modules and the BCU, an ON/OFF button, DC connectors P+/P−, a PE terminal, two RJ45 Link Port In/Out sockets (CAN) and SOC and status LEDs. The BCU monitors module voltage, current and temperature and protects against over-voltage, under-voltage, over-current, over-temperature and short circuit; continuous current 50 A.

In the box

BCU, base, 4 feet, 2 L-brackets with 2 M5×12 screws and 2 expansion anchors 8×40, 2 M5×25 screws, a pair of battery cables (+/−), a terminating resistor, a cable gland, an M6×16 screw, a hex key S4 and the quick installation guide; the latest manufacturer's guide also lists a network cable and a PE cable. HB051050B modules (3–8) are bought separately.

A second tower in parallel

The BCUs are daisy-chained: Link Port Out of the first to Link Port In of the second, with the terminating resistor in the last one. The manufacturer's sheet states up to 8 towers (163.84 kWh), only with modules of the same series. The BCU communicates with the inverter over CAN through a shielded CAT5 cable to its BMS port.

Installation and compatibility

The base stands on concrete or masonry, the modules are stacked, and the BCU goes on top and is additionally fixed to the wall with two L-brackets. IP65 in the system – indoors or outdoors out of direct sunlight. Compatible with the Solplanet-listed inverters ASW05–12kH-T2, ASW08–12kH-T3, their -DG versions and ASW015–030K-TH. We check your tower configuration and inverter before the order.
