Solplanet ASW12kH-T3 is the largest three-phase hybrid inverter of the ASW kH-T3 family: 12 kW rated power, three MPPTs, up to 18 kWp of PV modules, a 120–600 V battery port and a 12 kVA backup (EPS) output. It is meant for a larger house, a workshop or a small business with a 12 kW export permit, where a heat pump, a cooker, a sauna or equipment run together.

When 12 kW is worth it

Compared with the 10 kW model, ASW12kH-T3 gives 2 kW more to the grid, to the battery and to backup, accepts an 18 kWp array and up to 24 kW from the grid (34.8 A per phase). Enclosure, number of MPPTs and the 30 A battery current are the same; the breaker differs: 40 A instead of 32 A. Choose 12 kW when your export permit is 12 kW or when you need more than 3.3 kW of backup per phase.

Three strings of 6 kWp

18 kWp is split across three MPPTs (16 A each, up to 10 kW per tracker) – three orientations. The full 12 kW is available when string voltage is 380–850 V, so strings are built longer than for the 10 kW model; MPPT window 200–950 V, start-up at 180 V, input up to 1,100 V. The 150 % oversizing clips the peaks at 12 kW but extends the hours when the array covers the house and charges the battery.

A battery for the full 12 kW

Battery current is limited to 30 A, so the inverter reaches the full 12 kW only when battery voltage is no lower than about 400 V. At rated voltage an eight-module Ai-HB G2 Pro tower (409.6 V, 20.48 kWh) allows the full 12 kW; seven modules give about 10.8 kW, six about 9.2 kW; power decreases as the battery discharges. A smaller tower will work, only the battery will be slower than the inverter. The battery charges from the grid at up to 12 kW.

12 kVA backup

When the grid fails, the EPS output takes over 12 kVA in less than 10 ms – 4,000 W per phase, with a 10 s peak of 24 kVA. While the grid is present, up to 8,000 W per phase flows to the loads through the EPS output. Unbalanced phase loading depends on the unit version – we check it before ordering.

Installation, communication and warranty

IP66 enclosure 545 × 205 × 465 mm, 26 kg, fanless (below 35 dB); rated grid current 17.4 A, maximum 19.2 A. Included: Ai-Dongle (Wi-Fi and LAN), smart meter, three CTs, bracket and connectors; BMS communication via CAN, Solplanet app. The official Solplanet list names Ai-HB G2 / G2 Pro / G2-E / AP-H, Pylontech Powercube and Force-H, Dyness Tower T7 / T10 / T14 / T17, BYD HVS / HVM. AISWEI warranty is 5 or 10 years depending on the supply contract; under the factory terms it can be extended (total period up to 20 years), the extension being ordered within 2 years of shipment – we confirm the terms before ordering.
