Description

The Sungrow SG15RT-P2 is a 15 kW three-phase grid inverter for a larger home with a heat pump or a small business with a permitted generation capacity of 15 kW. It accepts up to 22.5 kWp of modules in four strings – two on each of the two MPPT inputs – and delivers up to 16.5 kVA, 25 A per phase, into the 3/N/PE 400 V grid. The enclosure is the same as the 10 kW model's (370 × 480 × 195 mm, IP65), weight 22 kg, fan cooling. A battery cannot be connected to this inverter – storage requires a hybrid inverter.

Four strings and 32 A on each input

Both MPPT inputs are identical: two strings each and up to 32 A (40 A short-circuit), but the two strings on one input must have the same orientation and tilt – e.g. two south strings on A, two east strings on B; the inputs may differ. A single MPPT delivers up to 15.5 kW, so a whole array on one roof pitch can be wired to one input. The inverter delivers full power at a string voltage of 380–850 V, so the strings must be longer than with the 10 kW model (320 V); MPPT range 160–1 000 V, maximum voltage 1 100 V.

How it differs from the 10 and 20 kW models

Compared with the SG10RT-P2 – a fourth string, 7.5 kWp more modules, a fan and 4 kg more weight; European efficiency 97.9 % (10 kW – 97.8 %). From the SG20RT-P2 it differs in AC power (15 vs 20 kW, 16.5 vs 22 kVA), output current (25 vs 31.9 A), module power (22.5 vs 30 kWp) and full-power threshold (380 vs 430 V) – the enclosure, weight and strings are the same. When the permitted capacity is above 15 kW, choose the 20 kW model – the string layout stays unchanged.

Communication and control

iSolarCloud app via the included WiNet-S (or WiNet-S2) module in the COM1 port (Wi-Fi or Ethernet); an LED indicator shows the status. For a single inverter, the DTSU666, DTSU666-20 or DTSD1352-C export-limitation meter is wired to the A2/B2 terminals of the COM2 connector with a shielded twisted pair; for several inverters (up to 5) – through a COM100E/D.

Mounting and warranty

The enclosure is fixed with the included bracket; the manufacturer specifies not to install it in bedrooms or other noise-sensitive rooms, nor on a mounting surface that may resonate. The AC connector for ≥15 kW models takes 6–10 mm² cable (5 cord-end terminals in the box), and a 40 A circuit breaker is recommended. Manufacturer warranty under the Sungrow Deutschland GmbH distribution terms – 10 years when installed in EU countries, including Lithuania.
