Description

The SolaX X3-MIC-10K-G2 is a 10 kW three-phase grid inverter for a home or small business whose PV plant is designed around a 10 kW service connection or permit. It accepts up to 20 kWp of solar modules (200 % oversizing), has two independent MPPT inputs and delivers up to 11 kVA of apparent power. The compact 342 × 156 × 434 mm, 17 kg IP66 enclosure is wall-mounted outdoors, in a garage or a boiler room. No battery can be connected to this inverter.

Two MPPTs for two roof faces

The standard version has one string per MPPT input (up to 16 A, short-circuit current up to 20 A), so east and west roof faces work separately without reducing each other's output. Each MPPT handles up to 8 kW, so the strings need not be symmetrical. The inverter delivers full power when the string voltage is 395–800 V; the operating range is 100–985 V, start-up from 150 V, maximum DC voltage 1 000 V. The manufacturer also offers a version with two strings on the PV1 input (up to 32 A, 18 kg) – we state which one we ship when you order.

Why 10 kW rather than 30

Compared with the X3-PRO-30K-G2, this model is 11 kg lighter, quieter (less than 45 dB) and allows more module oversizing – 200 % instead of 150 %, which helps in autumn and winter when the modules work far below their rated power. Maximum efficiency is 98.3 %, European efficiency 97.8 %. If your connection or permit exceeds 10 kW and more than 20 kWp of modules is planned, choose the PRO series.

Communication and control

The USB port takes the WiFi, LAN or 4G dongle (SolaX Cloud monitoring), RS485 is for the meter and DRM for the grid operator's signal. With a SolaX meter, export power control works down to zero feed-in, and up to 60 inverters can be connected in parallel through the DataHub. The communication dongle is not part of the manufacturer's standard package – we confirm whether it is included when you order.

Protections, mounting and warranty

IP66, operation from −30 °C to +60 °C, integrated DC switch, residual current and insulation monitoring, active anti-islanding; type II surge protection on the DC and AC side and AFCI are optional. In the box: inverter, AC connector with protective sheath, 2 pairs of PV connectors, grounding terminal, RJ45 connector, 3 wall plugs with screws. Manufacturer's warranty 5 years, upgraded free of charge to 10 years when connected to SolaX Cloud and uploading data.
